BBC Storyworks is the branded content arm of the internationally renowned news organisation BBC. We worked with their London-based producers to share the story of Fiona, the daughter of one of the last shrimp farmers in the Mai Po Nature Reserve, and her family.

Members of WWF Hong Kong and HSBC shared how they were also participating in the planting of mangroves, which scientists hope will restore the habitat after years of biodiversity loss.

Our team shot the project over two days and worked across Mandarin, Cantonese, and English to create the final cut.

Our in-house video production team worked together with the WWF management to film in the Mai Po Nature Reserve in Hong Kong. We were allowed special access to capture the most wild parts of the reserve and to document the revival of natural ecosystems after the reintroduction of gei wai shrimp farming through the shared efforts of HSBC and WWF. The Capsule48 production house took special care to thoroughly research and conduct preliminary fieldwork to ensure the project ran smoothly.
