DFS approached us to create a short feature on Carson Chan, Chief Advisor at Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie and Head Jury for one of their flagship events, Masters of Time.

We only had a morning with Carson Chan, but in those brief few hours he eloquently served as an excellent ambassador to the Masters of Time event by DFS, as well as watch aficionados around the world.

Our approach for this project was to make a clinical exploration of the passion that drives Carson, breaking down the mechanical nature of his hobby and revealing the deep curiosity and research that goes into his collection.

Capsule48’s production team worked together with DFS’s marketing department to put together the art direction and source materials and props that would help Carson’s story shine through, such as arranging for a specially tailored ikebana flower display as a color accent. For the location, our crew scouted a high-end local restaurant with light colored marble textures to serve as a setting for our interview.

DFS’s Masters of Time event runs every year to celebrate timepieces and fine jewelry.
